Welcome to Baby Carrot !
Free tuition for students from low income families
In today’s fast paced society, tuition has become the
norm rather than the exception.
Whether it is to help the child understand the subject matter,
or to master concepts already understood, or simply to revise
for an impending examination, the tuition teacher has an
important role to play in the future success of every child.
However, tuition in Singapore is not cheap. At an average
rate of $15 - $25 an hour, it will cost a family $320 per
month for their child to have tuition twice a week.
The amount of $320 could easily be 10% - 30% of the monthly
income for families in the lower income bracket.
With the rising cost of living and an increasingly competitive
labour market, this will probably translate to the child
having less tuition than she needs, stifling the child’s
future potential.
Baby Carrot is a social enterprise that provides free and
low cost tuition to students from low income families.
In addition, we also run the framework that enables us to
provide tuition at subsidized rates.
We depend on the good will and generosity of the general
public, companies and government agencies in contributing
their time, money, expertise and resources for our very
existence.
